NORTH YORKSHIRE ELECTRIC BIKES LTD is now in it’s 14th year of trading, selling QUALITY eBikes (mainly with BOSCH Crank Drive Systems, or equivalent) to Discerning Customers.
*** Due to the Economic Climate, and our age, we have decided to Retire on or before our Year End on 31st August 2026.
We have talked to our Bosch Rep & any of our remaining New Stock will be sold with a 2 year warranty which will be honoured by Bosch.
We shall continue to service all eBikes that we have sold until at least our retirement & supply free Bosch software updates for as long as possible.

All the eBikes currently in our range are of the highest quality and have been carefully selected because of their RELIABILITY, BUILD QUALITY, EASE OF MAINTENANCE and VALUE FOR MONEY. (You can pay a lot more for the same component specification of eBike in some brands, as well as paying a lot of money for poor quality & inferior performance! - Please call us to discuss this further. Also, many dealers do not even send their 'Engineers' on eBike training courses! REMEMBER, 'YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR'! - We expect our eBikes to last you at least 10 years, if looked after properly. You could end up buying 2 or 3 cheap eBikes/components during the same period of time!) If you puchase from us, we will do everything in our power to look after you & your eBike.

Escorted test rides are arranged at a convenient time (and place) to suit you, including quieter, traffic-free locations if you are worried about other road users.

MANY RETAILERS HAVE HUGE RANGES ON THEIR WEBSITES BUT CARRY HARDLY ANY eBIKES IN STOCK. SOME HAVE LITTLE KNOWLEDGE OF INDIVIDUAL MODELS AND EXPECT YOU TO BUY WITHOUT EVEN SEEING OR RIDING THEM!
THIS IS A SURE WAY TO END UP WITH THE WRONG eBIKE!
WE ONLY STOCK eBIKES WITH DRIVE SYSTEMS OF 50Nm TORQUE OR MORE, AS WE WOULD EXPECT YOU TO BE ABLE TO NEGOTIATE ANY TYPE OF TERRAIN THAT YOU COME ACROSS FOR MANY YEARS INTO THE FUTURE. (You should not be limited by under-performance.) THEY ALSO HAVE HIGH QUALITY HYDRAULIC BRAKES (instead of cable operated) FOR EXCEPTIONAL STOPPING POWER.
MANY NEWLY RELEASED CRANK-DRIVE eBIKES HAVE LESS POWER & NEED TO BE PEDALLED FASTER IN ORDER TO GET THIS PERFORMANCE. ALSO THE BATTERIES ARE MUCH SMALLER, THEREFORE LIMITING THE RANGE. MANY HAVE CARBON FIBRE FRAMES WHICH ARE LESS RELIABLE & COST A LOT MORE - ALL THIS TO SAVE WEIGHT (WHICH IS NOT VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN RIDING.)
THE REASON THAT WE OPERATE ON AN APPOINTMENT BASIS IS IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A BETTER LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.

In 2016 we decided to discontinue stocking inferior 'Chinese Type' HUB MOTOR eBikes (because of problems with performance & reliability).
There are many (cheap & not so cheap) poor quality eBikes available which do not provide the reliability, performance or long term value for money that you should expect. There are also many 'illegal' eBikes being sold (including 'conversion kits') that do not meet UK & EU regulations!
Our customers now appreciate the benefits of TOP QUALITY EUROPEAN 'CRANK DRIVE' eBIKES USING THE 'MARKET-LEADING' BOSCH eBIKE SYSTEMS, (but from 2024 we shall also be stocking selected EBCO Models which use the BAFANG CRANK DRIVE SYSTEM in order to be able to supply a Quality eBike at an even LOWER PRICE).
The latest models are capable of 'realistic' ranges that were unthinkable a few years ago and the component level and reliability is exceptional! The more powerful Touring and Roadster eBikes open up a whole new exhilarating experience, and the new generation of Mountain eBikes, with the latest 85Nm Generation 4 Bosch CX motor, are unbelievably good when taken 'off-road'!
